The Orléans Forest has an area of approximately 50,000 hectares, 35,000 hectares of which are state-owned forest, making it the largest state-owned forest in mainland France. It is made up of 3 massifs, from east to west: Lorris, Ingrannes and Orléans. It extends north of the Loire over 60 km.
It is crossed by the Orléans canal, which is fed by numerous ponds. A state-owned forest of oak and pine trees which is home to two emblematic species: the stag and the osprey.
The forest offers hikers and lovers of hunting large areas of freedom and discovery.
