10th stage of the Tour de France

Orleans at the heart of the competition

The route of the 111th Tour de France promises to be exceptional, with a combination of mountains, plains and time trials.

This year, Orleans will have the honour of hosting the start of stage 10, one of the key stages on this prestigious route. The 22 Grande Boucle teams will arrive on the evening of Sunday 7th July and enjoy a well-deserved rest day on Monday 8th July. Then, on Tuesday 9th July, the riders will set off towards Saint-Amand-Montrond. So get your horns and flags ready, there’s going to be some hard pedalling in Orleans this summer!

The Tour de France is sure to dazzle you as it passes through Orleans! As you watch this exciting stage, follow the riders’ route and take the time to discover our beautiful city.

Don’t miss out on a visit to Orléans’ must-see sites, such as the majestic Sainte-Croix cathedral. A few steps away, discover the elegant Hôtel Groslot, stroll along Rue Jeanne d’Arc, admire the Place du Martroi with its statue of Joan of Arc, cross the Pont George V, the oldest stone bridge in Orléans, and take a moment to discover the Olivet mills.

  • Information on the city of Orléans and VAH

  • BMX and draisiennes activities

Garden of the Hôtel Groslot:

  • Photographic exhibition on the start of the 19th stage of the Tour de France in Orleans on 28th July 2001

Rue Royale and rue Charles-Sanglier:

  • Accessibility centre with routes and events on adapted cycling

Place de la République:

  • Macif: virtual reality road safety event with Séverine Guérif, three-time world duathlon champion

Place de Loire:

  • Exhibition of an animated work by the Compagnons du Tour de France
  • Exhibition and sale of Tour de France 2024 stamps and postcards
  • Cycle touring
  • Road safety event organised by the Loiret Prefecture
  • French Blood Establishment

Quays of the Loire:

  • Loiret Department: exhibition, bike hire and trials, mobility plan and Fiesta Vélo
  • Vintage bikes: exhibition and trail
  • Boat trip

Orleans museums :

  • Special opening of Orleans museums : sports and cycling programme

Espace Culturel Leclerc in Olivet :

  • Signing session from 3pm to 6pm with Bernard Thévenet and Bernard Hinault, two legends of the Grande Boucle.

Tuesday 9th July

Start of the stage in rue Fernand-Rabier:

  • Start of the Tour caravan at 11am
  • Fictitious start of stage 10 of the Tour de France, at 1pm

Boulevard Alexandre-Martin :

  • Podium/signature: passage of all the riders before the start
    Tour de France village (limited access)
