As the name suggests, this magnificent grass area was once the city cemetery. Built in the 12th century, all that remains today are the rows of 15th and 16th century archways which house the artisans of the medieval market where the Fêtes de Jeanne d’Arc is held. Closed in the 18th century, the site has been redeveloped many times. Playing host to the famous Jazz Festival, it is now a hotspot in the cultural life of Orléans.
